Dub Vader
Owner, Operator, Selector Dub Vader, owner, operator, and selector for Tuff Tone Sound System, brings a deep-rooted passion for sound system culture to the Australian scene. Growing up in London, he immersed himself in the world of heavyweight sound systems throughout his teenage years, absorbing the powerful vibrations and crucial selections. Armed with an extensive vinyl collection amassed during this formative time, Dub Vader made his way to Australia. Recognizing a void in the local landscape for the specific style of sound system he knew and loved, he was inspired to establish Tuff Tone. Heavily influenced by the legendary King of Sound System, Jah Shaka, Dub Vader channels this inspiration into Tuff Tone's style and pattern. Staying true to the UK sound system tradition, he operates with a single turntable, preamp, using effects and delays, to deliver a powerful and resonant sonic experience. |
